He is so much fun at this age!
So far though, every stage has been my favorite, although I always look back on the other stages with great fondness.
I loved the cuddliness of the newborn stage;
I loved the quiet alertness of the couple months following the newborn sleepiness;
I loved the laughs and giggles of the 4 month old;
I love the curiosity of the 5 month old;
and now, I love the milestones of the 6 month old.
Jayden is sitting up very well these days.
He still needs a little help but overall is pretty stable!
Tonight is an especially fun milestone. Not only is it DJ's birthday dinner (Happy Birthday to DJ!) but it will also be the first night that we will try to give Jayden solid foods! I'm sure I will have some fun pictures (and hopefully video too!) to post of that adventure later this week.
Jayden has also found his voice and he loves to use it by screeching.
It's really pretty funny since we haven't had to deal with that newfound discovery at church yet, then it might not be so funny. But right now, we love to watch him get excited and laugh and talk and well, screech.
On Friday, he will have his 6 month appointment and we will find out how long and heavy he is. I don't need a scale to tell me how heavy he is though. He's heavy. Very heavy. But a healthy heavy and I wouldn't have it any other way. He will also be getting a few more shots. I hate hate hate that part. I wish all the diseases in the world would just go away so we could do away with those dreaded shots.
This weekend, I think I will also attempt some more "formal" 6 month pictures. I had initially planned on hiring someone to take his 6 month photos and take some family photos with all three of us but I kind of dropped the ball on that one. I'm not really a fan of the idea of taking him to JCPenny or Sears either since that just seems pretty stressful so I will be doing them. I hope they turn out otherwise I will be kicking myself for that decision for many years to come.
Here are a couple more pictures in case you just haven't had enough yet!
Yes, his toenails need trimmed. What I was really going for in this picture was the chubby deliciousness of his feet.
We often find Jayden sucking on his bottom lip.
This is Nicolette who we love. She is so great with Jayden.
That tongue is always sticking out these days. Sometimes just randomly, other time to take a little taste of whatever happens to be in his reach. Oftentimes that is someone's face. We call those kisses. You have to love the full on open mouth slobbery kiss of a baby. Especially if it's your baby.

I LOVE these pictures! Jayden is SO precious! I can't wait to hear how he did with solids!
